Happy New Year from the Candlesmoke Caretakers!
We wanted to take this opportunity to say how grateful and excited we are. We’re grateful that we’ve been able to spend this last year building a foundation and beginning the work that our minds and hearts really want to do. And we’re especially grateful that we’ve actually seen some success!
We looked at our stats for the year and gave ourselves a little pat on the back. With 27 posts on this blog, we had over 10,000 views and averaged over 800 views per month across more than 85 countries. We started the blog in the Fall of 2011, so this was our first full year and I’d say those stats aren’t too shabby for a couple of nerds just starting out!
We’d like to give a huge shout-out and enormous amounts of gratitude to The Witch of Forest Grove and New World Witchery, who were our top referrers for 2012; more people found us through their sites than any others. So thank you, gracias, merci and danke to Sarah, Cory and Laine for listing us on your sites!!!
Another major milestone for us in 2012 was starting to sell our products on Etsy. We put up our first listings in March and had our first sale in April. Since that time our shop has had over 5500 views, averaging more than 450 views per month. On top of that, we garnered exactly 100 shop favorites and over 175 listing favorites! The top site referrer to our Etsy shop was Milagro Roots. Miss. Bri Saussy has been so kind and generous with her support of our endeavors and our appreciation is infinite. You can find us on her Resources page and she graciously wrote a magnificent review of our products.
This past year we saw lots of success, but some of my favorites were harvesting, prepping and drying our Queen Elizabeth roots, developing six new anointing oils and the offering of card readings. Because all of you are so awesome, our shop is looking a little empty right now (read as – thanks for buying our stuff!). Expect a re-stock in the shop by the end of January-early February, as well as several new oils and few other new products that will be revealed as the months unfold!
After an enormous move from one coast to the other (2 cats and all!), we still managed to keep things going and not lose sight of our goals. In fact, I think our goals are even more in focus than ever before. The next step in the big picture is the exciting and super-scary process of starting to look for a house and land to buy…woohoo! and whoa. The most important thing is that we love where we are now, literally and figuratively, and are excited to keep learning and growing and building our dream.
Thank you so much for all of your love and support!
